James McMorris’s new book “The Uninformed Liberal; but then I repeat myself” is now available
It is how this conservative views liberals, how we can hopefully find some common ground to reach a better understanding, and how we can better work together.

Would someone please tell me why anyone would vote for Hillary Clinton? This lady has told so many falsehoods and fantasies that I no longer believe she knows truth. I suspect she even believes she could make money trading cattle futures.
Barack Obama and John McCain appear to be consistent, you may not agree with their positions, but you know where they stand, with Hillary, I do not have a clue.

For those Uninformed Liberals who have been claiming we are in a recession, (covered in my book, The Uninformed Liberal; But Then I repeat Myself) I have a word for you. Say good night, your party is over. Current data indicates the United States economy grew in the first quarter of 2008. So we have no recession. Data also shows factory and durable orders increased for the month of March, 2008, and unemployment went down. Even the service sector grew in the month of April, after shrinking in the previous two months. You can holler ‘Recession’ all you want, it does not make it true. It only makes you uninformed.

When I posted this note on recession in May of 2008 the Government statistics for the first quarter of 2008 had just been reported. These statistics reported that the United States economy had grown during the first quarter of 2008, therefore we were not in a recession. In spite of this report, many continued to claim the United States economy was in a recession.
This pattern continued until late 2008, with some saying we were in recession and government statistics indicating there was no recession. Then during the fourth quarter of 2008, the government released revised statistics indicating the United States economy was indeed in a recession, and had been in a recession since the fourth quarter of 2007!
With this type of statistical reporting I question how the government can accomplish anything.

Gas Prices-
I cannot believe some of our uninformed liberal members of Congress. They pass a bill that prevents drilling for oil in the state of Colorado’s oil shale, an area that is part of an oil field that has eight times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabai, and then complain because Saudi Arabia will not pump more oil. I am beginning to think I am too kind when I call them uninformed!
They appear to be more interested in the CEO’s salary than in fixing the problem.
How long do you think oil prices would remain high if Congress decided that the United States government was going onto United States government property and pump oil to be placed into United States government reserves? Oil prices would drop like stone.

Our uninformed liberal members of congress continue to say drilling for oil in ARWR is out of the question because it would take several years to bring the oil to market, and we need a short term solution. However, so far none have presented a short term solution. No one has addressed the obvious; there is no short term solution to the United States energy. If they had allowed drilling in ARWR several years ago, we would now have that oil on the market, it would not be a total solution, but it would have been an improvement over our current situation.
Now our uninformed members have voted to not allow drilling for oil in the oil shale area of Colorado, part of an area that now has estimated oil reserves several times larger than the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia. In both ARWR and the oil shale area, it appears to me that the environmentalist waited until the oil companies had spent money and resources to identify the oil reserves, then went forth to convince congress to pass laws preventing the drilling for oil. Our members of congress are now telling the oil companies to identify the oil reserves in the Gulf of Mexico and drill there. The oil companies are a little gun shy of this idea; congress has already prevented the drilling in some areas of the Gulf of Mexico, and spending additional company funds after the experience of ARWR and the oil shale area the oil companies have good reason to no longer trust the actions of congress.
Our uninformed liberal members of congress have allowed the uninformed environmentalist to stop the nuclear power industry, shut down the northwest timber industry and now apparently are taking steps to shut down the oil industry.
We now have China and Venezuela drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. Neither of these countries have the United States interest at heart. Nor do they appear to be concerned about the environment. Why should we restrict our oil companies from drilling when others are in the same general area?
As I said at the top, there is no short term solution. Our congress, with pressure from environmentalists, has created this issue. It will take years to build additional refineries (please note the environmentalists have also opposed the building of additional refineries), it will take years to build additional nuclear power plants. Even solar, the darling of the environmentalists, will take years to develop, and may not ever be the total solution.
The United States is a blessed nation; we have several potential sources of energy. Nuclear, natural gas, coal, wind, oil reserves and solar are all available to us, but with the restrictions the environmentalists have pushed on us, restricting the use of coal, oil, and nuclear power, it is like an old west gunfighter going to OK corral with only three bullets in their six gun.

The book, ‘The Uninformed Liberal; but then I repeat myself’ is now available on Amazon.com.
I am sending copies to Senators McCain, Obama, and Reid, hopefully some will read the book and act accordingly.

Received a letter from Barack Obama thanking me for the book, “The Uninformed Liberal, but then I repeat myself”.
In Barack’s acceptance speech he reversed his position on taxes and energy, taking the position that I had stated in my book! Is it possible that the book influnced his thinking?

During the 1970’s some “experts” and environmentalists proclaimed that the earth was headed for another ice age. Books were written warning of the oncoming doom; some even suggested we scatter ashes on the polar ice caps so they would melt at a faster rate.
Then during the 1990’s the earth went through a warming trend; many “experts” and environmentalists proclaimed that the earth was warming. These “experts” even decided that man was the cause of this global warming as they pointed to the increase of CO2 gas. Somehow these “experts” failed to notice that the plotted graph of CO2 gas followed the graph of temperature increase, not the reverse as would be necessary for their theory to be correct. These “experts” also failed to notice that the temperature on the surface of Mars was also increasing at a similar rate.
Now we are in the year 2009 and these “experts” are still proclaiming global warming, specifically pointing to the Greenland ice cap as they allege it is melting at an alarming rate. Somehow they failed to notice that the recorded Greenland temperatures have been colder during the last two decades than they have since 1910.
At some point we the people must declare these “experts” as nothing more than a bunch of uninformed individuals who refuse to look at the all the available data. For if they would, all would see that the sun is such a large source of energy that it controls the Earths temperature just as it controls the temperature on Mars.
